The seventh round of the 2022 Formula E season scheduled to take place in Vancouver, Canada has been cancelled.

It has been reported by Canadian media that the race which was intended to be a part of the Canadian E-fest, a festival meant to promote "responsible motorsport" lacked the appropriate permits. As such it was then impossible for the promoter to proceed with holding the E-Prix and festival.

In a statement the OSS group who are promoters for the event stated: "After intensive review with the City of Vancouver, OSS Group has had to make the incredibly difficult decision to postpone Canadian E-Fest until 2023."

"The City of Vancouver fully supports the postponement. Delivery of a world class event is of the utmost importance to the organisation. We will be communicating with ticket holders to inform them of their options."

The Vancouver E-Prix was meant to mark the return of Formula E to Canada for the first time since 2017 and it is currently unclear whether the vacancy it has left will be replaced by another round.
