A Star Called Caroline Grifneé

Born on August 6, 1980, Belgian Caroline Grifnée fell in love with the world of speed at a young age, influenced by her father who organized rally and go-kart racing events, she pursued a career in the world of motor racing competing in categories such as 24-hour 2CV Spa- Francorchamps, 24 hours in Dubai, Belcar, Supercar Challenge, Megane trophy, Porsche GT3 Cup and Clio Cup.

Throughout her vast repertoire, Caroline has also had the opportunity to compete alongside Vanina Ickx, daughter of former F1 driver Jacky Ickx, in the 24 Hours of Zolder, where the duo got a podium.

In 2014, the driver took a new and ambitious step in her career, when she was invited to lead the DAMS team in Formula Renault 3.5, where she was champion with Carlos Sainz Jr. and in GP2 with Jolyon Palmer.

The invitation was to lead the DAMS team in Formula E, where they won the constructors championship in the first three years of the category.

Her competence leaves no doubt about the extraordinary woman Caroline was. She sadly passed away on February 1st, 2021, and her last projects in progress were competition organizations on the famous Spa-Francorchamps track, recordings with Renault Clio, as well as other projects that involved her passion for historic vehicles.

With her striking smile and exemplary professional posture, Caroline’s resume confirms the achievements of this incredible woman in sports, we from the DIVEBOMB team offer our condolences to her family and friends and we hope her story continues to inspire young girls and women to work and achieve their dreams on and off the track.
