Francesco Bagnaia - MotoGP World Champion 2023

Francesco Bagnaia is the MotoGP World Champion in 2023.

A thrilling final race in Valencia, would be over before it even saw the chequered flag on Sunday, as Jorge Martin was riding incredibly aggressively, eventually overdoing it and running wide into Turn One, nearly collecting Francesco Bagnaia.

However, as Martin slipped behind by two seconds, he began overriding the bike, eventually trying to get down the inside of Marc Marquez into Turn Four and clipping his fellow Spaniard, throwing Marquez to the ground as Martin would hit the deck after running wide into the gravel. Martin Retired from the Grand Prix, making Bagnaia automatically, our 2023 MotoGP World Champion.

After overturning a 91-point deficit to Fabio Quartararo in 2022, Bagnaia has now successfully defended his MotoGP Championship, taking the title once again in 2023. A season which will go down in history as one of the best MotoGP seasons, full of surprises and thrilling moments.

Hearts will go out to Jorge Martin, who fought the ultimate MotoGP underdog story as a Satellite team against the Factory Squad. Unfortunately for Martin, his classic aggressive style has come back to bite him.

Both KTM's would lead the race after Bagnaia began to relax, but eventually, Miller would crash out from the lead and Binder would make a mistake too.

Bagnaia was being caught by Fabio Di Giannantiono who attempted a last corner, last lap pass. However it wasn't to be, as Francesco Bagnaia brought it home to take an exceptional victory, Winning the 2023 Championship in style.
