The four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel ended his illustrious career at the end of the 2022 season after a difficult two years at Aston Martin. His decision as a father of three seemed straightforward and final, as he declared his retirement via video on Instagram. He admitted that he would like to spend more time with his family which would not be possible if he continued racing in F1.

A Vettel comeback seems near impossible to most fans, although everyone would love to see him back in the motorsport world. Recently however, rumors that the ex-driver is eyeing a new role at Red Bull have surfaced. Sky Sports pundit Ted Kravitz stated:

“We may well see a surprise comeback of Sebastian Vettel this year, but it won’t be as a driver”.

Vettel is rumored to replace Dr. Helmut Marko who has been the motorsport-advisor at Red Bull for many years now. Kravitz explained that Vettel had mentioned he would be open to making an appearance at the Suzuka Circuit in Japan. Kravitz also hinted at Vettel potentially joining the Audi F1 team upon their arrival to the grid in 2026, although the reporter believes a return to Red Bull is more likely. We can only hope that fans will see more of Vettel in the coming years.
