Williams Academy driver Zak O'Sullivan won from the reverse-grid pole in Saturday's FIA Formula 3 Sprint Race.

O'Sullivan was closely followed by fellow academy driver Luke Browning, with Trident's Leonardo Fornaroli trailing behind the pair.

Further back, a thrilling battle emerged as Bortoleto, Montoya, Aron, Colapinto, and Boya fought for fourth place on lap 15.

Championship contender Dino Beganovic suffered a puncture late in the race, leading to an off-track excursion. On lap 16, a collision at the exit of Turn 2 between Gabriele Mini and Christian Mansell left the latter beached in the gravel and out of the race.

The incident brought out a safety car, and Mini was handed a 10-second penalty while O'Sullivan found the checkered flag.

It was a lights-to-flag win for the Prema driver, who was ecstatic to have won for the first time in the series: "Pretty good result and the pace was really strong. I managed to maintain the gap and hold off the car behind early on.

"Even at the end of the race, just before the safety car, the tyres kind of came back to me and I started to build a nice gap. It is an awesome result, now let's see if we can make some progress in the feature race!"
