Nine-times World Champion Sebastien Loeb has announced, along with M-Sport, that he will drive for the team at this year’s Rally Acropolis, which will take place from September 8th-11th. This will be the Frenchman’s fourth and final outing this season, after Monte Carlo, Portugal and Kenya.

Loeb returned to the World Rally Championship for the first time since 2020, after agreeing to race for the M-Sport World Rally team in four out of 16 events of the 2022 season, partnered with new co-driver, Isabelle Galmiche.

He managed to win on his first rally back, in Monte Carlo, after a titanic battle with his old rival Sebastien Ogier. He briefly took the lead in Portugal, before crashing out on day one, only to retire with engine issues the next day. Mechanical gremlins again haunted him in Kenya, forcing him out of the rally.

With his main rival Ogier absent from the round at Acropolis, it will be interesting to see if Loeb can get a big advantage over his former teammate, and seal his place ahead of him in the standings.
