Super Max brings home another victory

Championship leader Max Verstappen brought RedBull yet another lead-extending victory at their home track the RedBull Ring.

The young Dutchman, who took pole yesterday got away pretty well at the start of the race. Meanwhile McLaren’s Lando Norris lost his third place pretty quickly.

The first lap of the race was chaotic and Leclerc and Gasly had an incident. As a result of which we saw the Ferrari driver early into the pits, while Pierre Gasly had to retire due to the puncture.

Meanwhile Bottas, who started fifth because of the penalty, cleaned up pretty well to finish third. Sergio Perez, who managed to pressurise the Mercedes for so long, settled for fourth.

Behind that, McLaren’s Lando Norris finished fifth. The Ferrari duo of Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc finished sixth and seventh respectively. This was a big improvement for Charles who had a point-less French Grand Prix and nightmarish start of the race.

Aston Martin’s Lance Stroll finished eighth while Sebastian Vettel finished 12th. Fernando Alonso took ninth and Alpha Tauri’s Yuki Tsunoda made yet another top ten appearance in P10. Alfa Romeo’s Kimi Raikonnen took 11th while the other McLaren, Daniel Ricciardo finished 13th.

Alpine’s Estaban Ocon finished 14th, Antonio Giovinazzi 15th and the Haas’ of Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin took 16th and 17th respectively.

A tough day for the Williams garage as Nicholas finished 18th and George Russell, who was running P8, was forced to retire owing to a power unit issue.

Race one of the double header at the Austrian circuit has been in favour of the Bulls, will they charge again?
