Suzuki are to make a shock decision to leave the premier class of motorbike racing in 2022, seven years after a return to the sport. Both riders will leave the team as the contracts expire at that time with Johan Mir set to move to Honda joining Marc Marquez. Alex Rins however has a much more difficult situation.

This decision came in the year following David Brivio’s departure to Alpine in Formula 1. The project leader became team boss saying it was too much and bringing in someone new for 2022 before the team’s departure. It's believed all team members were gathered together on Monday to break the shocking news to all.

The official statement will be released in the coming hours.
