The 2021 Constructors' champions have unveiled their car, following the 2022 regulation changes. The challenger is predominantly silver with strokes of cyan and hints of red. The regulations don’t just change up the aerodynamics of the car but also the power unit, Mercedes has nailed regulations in the past (found some loopholes too!) but where they stand in the field is something we will only know when the cars hit the track.
With the much awaited arrival of George Russell to Mercedes, his pairing with Seven time world champion Lewis Hamilton is definitely going to be one to watch out for. A big point of interest for this season is going to be the rapport between the two, is it going to be a harmonious one or turbulent? With a youngster here to prove his worth and a champion on the hunt for his eighth, the pressure is on!
The Brackley based team have dominated the turbo hybrid era, it is difficult to imagine the team fighting for anything but wins. The switch up in regulations presents a new and exciting challenge to every team. We’ll see how Mercedes fares in the new era when pre-season testing starts on February 23rd.
