John's Story
As a consequence of his father racing Caterhams since he was four years of age, Bennett was no stranger to motorsport in his infancy. Starting karting at 16 and jumping into cars that very same year, Bennett soon adapted to the Ginetta GT5 machinery, ending the year with three podiums from four races. 2021 would be a breakout year, five race wins and a further five podiums from 18 races crowned Bennett the Ginetta GT5 runner up.
A bold move to the GB3 championship with Elite Motorsport proved to be a successful one as Bennett was on the pace straight from round one, scoring two top fives in his first weekend. Four more top fives would come in 2022, as well as a podium to round out the season at Donington Park, finishing the year P8 in the championship. In 2023 Bennett continued in GB3, this time with feeder series powerhouse Carlin. He finished the season 10th in the standings, with two pole postions and a further podium at Silverstone. At the start of 2024 Bennett took on his biggest challenge yet, the Formula Regional Middle Eastern Championship with Evans GP, finishing 23rd overall and 12th in the rookie standings, improving his pace with every round.
Bennett will contest the GB3 Championship again for the rest of 2024, this time with reigning teams champions JHR Developments.
