DIVEBOMB’s sponsored driver John Bennett is the latest addition to JHR Development’s GB3 roster. Contending in his third year of the series, Bennett will accompany fellow countryman Josh Irfan, and Australia’s Patrick Heuzenroed.

Having finished eighth and tenth in the seasons prior, it is unsurprising that the Brit returns to the series with title hopes at the forefront of his mind. Last year, Bennett scored two pole positions alongside a handful of top-ten results — including a mighty drive at Silverstone to secure an incredible second place.

Based in Salisbury, the youngster’s career in cars began in the Ginetta GT5 challenge. He ended his maiden campaign with an incredible run of three podiums in the final four races, followed by a further five race wins, ten podium finishes and two poles the year after.

Having tackled the Formula Regional Middle Eastern Championship (FRMEC) over the winter, Bennett enters the season in good stead. Most notably, the 20-year-old recorded a monumental 16 overtakes in race two of round two — the most in FRMEC history.

In response to the announcement, Bennett expressed his enthusiasm at the partnership:

“I’m really excited to be joining JHR Developments in the GB3 Championship for the 2024 season. They’re a great team full of very talented individuals, as shown by their results across the board in 2023, and things clicked instantly when I undertook my first test with them.”

“I can’t wait to get the year underway and see what we can achieve together.”

Team Principal, Steven Hunter, spoke his praises of Bennett, stating: “We are really happy to welcome John to the team for the 2024 season. We had a strong season in the GB3 Championship last year, fighting for the Drivers’ title right to the final round, so we’ll be working hard with John to be at the front again.”

“John has impressed us in testing not only with his pace on track and feedback off it, but also with his desire and dedication to succeed and challenge for the title.”

JHR Developments ended last season on a high, clinching the GB3 team’s title. With a history rich in success and dedication, the team will provide the perfect place for John Bennett to grow as a driver.

If you would like to follow GB3 more closely, the action begins at Oulton Park on the 30th of March. Each round is broadcast on the series’ YouTube channel free of charge, so make sure you tune in.
