Last weekend marked the third anniversary of the Detroit Grand Prix leaving Belle Isle back in 2023. Similar to the two previous editions, there was plenty of mayhem. Overall, the race had six cautions and 61 pit stops; 19 drivers finished, yet only one could be crowned the winner.

Only three things are certain in life. Death, taxes and the Detroit Grand Prix being a chaotic, caution-filled motor race. If you were to add a fourth to that list, it would undoubtedly be the indomitable Álex Palou, who picked up yet another victory. His third of the year on a street course. He would be joined on the podium once again by Kyle Kirkwood, who took the challenge to the Spaniard before eventually falling off late in the race. The Grand Prix of Indianapolis was a mixed bag for David Malukas. On one hand, he picked up his second podium of the season and matched his career best finish of second. On the other hand, it was a race where he really could’ve won.
