With Gresini announcing two new riders for the 2027 season, it was no surprise that Álex Márquez was on the hunt for a new home. Just a few days later, it was announced that Márquez will join the KTM factory team, while Pedro Acosta is also set to join the Ducati factory team to ride alongside the other Márquez brother. Additionally, Fabio Diggiantonio will also be joining the team leaving a vacant spot at the VR46 side.
