Haas F1 team unveils their 2022 car!

Written by Aiden Hover, Edited by Tanishka Vashee

The first team to break the covers on the newest generation of F1 cars, Haas have today unveiled their 2022 livery. Whilst, we may have to wait until the first days of testing for the unveiling of the actual car. The livery of the 2022 contender remains the same in terms of the colour palette- Red and blue stripes with some accents of black on a white base.

Haas have opted to maintain their driver pairing of Mick Schumacher and Nikita Mazepin for another year as they hope to build on a more than disappointing 2021 season. Having realised early on that last season's campaign would be a brutally difficult time, the American outfit decided to halt all car investment and instead focus entirely on this season's challenger to get a jump start on the other teams. Hopefully, this will pay dividends and award the team a competitive package out of the gate in Bahrain. They will also be expecting a return on the signing of Simone Resta as technical director shortly before the 2021 season as part of a closer relationship with Ferrari. The VF-22 will be the first Haas car to truly envisage Resta’s design fingerprint and will hopefully award the team some success.

With the most inexperienced lineup on the grid, Haas still have a great number of unknowns leading up to the season as neither driver truly had a chance to demonstrate their talent last year and still will be learning the ropes somewhat - though the new car regulations should level the playing ground as all 20 drivers will need to learn how to drive the next generation of cars.

With the 2022 season finally nearing into sight and car launch season officially kicking off, we cannot wait for the first round of pre-season tests in Spain in just under three weeks!
