Don’t be fooled by Jenzer Motorsport’s current 6th place in the F3 Teams’ Championship. Despite a difficult first half of the season, the team found impressive speed over the last round with 17-year-old Nikita Bedrin and 19-year-old Taylor Barnard.
Bedrin earned his first podium in the Hungaroring sprint race, landing P3 after a long run in P1. He told Formula Scout, “This is like my first experience fighting in the front with the guys… It was a difficult race, but I’m still happy to finish on the podium.”
Barnard meanwhile took his maiden F3 win in Spa and the first win for Jenzer Motorsport since the 2019 season. He commented, “A Feature Race win here at Spa, I can’t quite believe it! My weekend has gone upside-down to how I expected it to be honest, I finished on the podium in both races.”
Spa was the most successful race for Jenzer with Barnard’s P1, Bedrin’s P3, and García’s P4. Unsurprisingly the team was ecstatic, Bedrin told Formula Scout; “I’m really happy, especially for the team because it was a great result for everybody… especially considering that I started P18. To finish on the podium, I was not expecting that. But we’ve done the correct choice with the team.”
The two promising drivers have earned 24 and 50 points respectively, as opposed to their 20-year-old teammate Alejandro García with 12 points. There's no doubt that team owner Andreas Jenzer has a favourable skill for guiding younger drivers to success, previously commenting; “I enjoy working with young people… It’s always nice to see your driver moving on and becoming professional. I think it’s a big task, but there are quite a few drivers today that are earning money that have come out of our team, building up from very young.”
