After the MCL35M launch yesterday, Mclaren is putting up an encore performance because the Mclaren Artura debuts tonight. Citing caranddriver.com, the Artura will be powered with a hybrid twin-turbo V6, much like their F1 counterparts, and is estimated to produce up to 560 horsepower and 443 lb-ft of torque. These numbers are based on the output of the twin-turbo V8 featured in the outgoing 570S. There is no information yet on whether the car’s electric motor will generate more horsepower, if there’s any to be produced. Mclaren also stated that the new powertrain will be capable of all-electric operation, albeit in “medium range”. The new sports car will also feature Mclaren’s new Carbon Lightweight Architecture (MCLA), which is estimated to be lighter than its predecessors.

As for the interior, we can expect the usual minimalist approach that Mclaren have donned over the coming years, prioritizing function over fashion by limiting the presence of the physical switchgear and a steering-wheel free of buttons. While it is unlikely that the Artura will provide much space for stowaways, the front trunk should be enough for any small luggage or loose item.
With almost nothing but the basics for the inside, the entertainment system in the Artura is expected to have some kind of touchscreen with customary features. This may include Bluetooth connectivity, built-in satnav, SiriusXM, and a select few audio equipment.
The 2022 Artura has yet to be crash tested by the NHTSA or the IIHS and with the small number of production and the exotic nature of the car, it probably never will. The new car is not expected to have many of the modern driver-assistance technologies such as adaptive cruise control, automated emergency braking and much more.
With no complimentary maintenance service and only three years’ worth of limited and powertrain warranty, the after purchase service is arguably mediocre compared to its rivals Mercedes-Benz and Porsche and with a tag of approximately $200.000, it’s certainly the car for wealthy business owners or rich fancy playboys who like to hang out in Monte-Carlo.
