The Pole is now part of the ELMS 2021 campaign and has just announced he will have the opportunity to be behind the wheel of the LMP2 prototype, Oreca 07, proposed to be the best and one of cheapest cars, without compromising quality, giving everyone good chances to dispute the victory.

Kubica follows in the footsteps of other experienced drivers such as Kelvin van de Linde, GT Masters champion in 2014 and 2019, and Robin Frijns, which has enjoyed great success in GT, and sees the new step as a “long-term project”.

Nicki Thiim, currently a WEC champion, will be Robert’s teammate who is also working with Aston Martin Racing. But it seems that the team has stopped investing so much in the category to focus on his new and ambitious F1 project, with the new counting of tetra-champion Sebastian Vettel.

Through social networks, Kubica said: “I’m very happy to join Team WRT for what is a new chapter in my career and a new challenge also for the team.”

We wish Robert the best of luck, and we’re looking forward to watch his achievements in the new category.
