But before the 'Greatest Spectacle in Racing', we must have the prelude - the Grand Prix of Indianapolis held on the IMS road course, Round 6 of 18 in the 2026 IndyCar Series season.

Álex Palou checked off one of the few remaining boxes in his IndyCar career, as he won on the Streets of Long Beach for the first time. Álex Palou stormed home to a third win in five races to start 2026 on the Streets of Long Beach as he re-claimed the IndyCar championship lead and finally took a long-awaited first victory on the Streets of Long Beach.
