“On my side, I was always trying to go for pole,” Campos racer Noel León responded. León had just taken a stellar maiden pole position in Austria, pulling off a strategy few would look to pursue in Formula 2 qualifying.

Noel León became the first Mexican to score pole position for Formula 2's Austria weekend by a margin of 0.129 seconds, ahead of Alex Dunne, while teammate Nikola Tsolov, who rounded out the top three.

“It all starts by drinking a little water,” Trident’s Laurens van Hoepen would say when asked about keeping up with the intense heat. The Indian driver never looked back after a rocket start saw him eclipse Noel León off the front row of the grid for the lead.

The Paraguayan driver was picked up after speeding under yellow flags, a result of Miyata's incident at the final corner only moments earlier. Nikola Tsolov was running in second place on Lap 34 of Formula 2’s Feature Race in Monaco. He had qualified on top of Group B on Friday, but wasn’t fast enough to beat out Invicta Racing’s Rafael Câmara, so he started just behind him on Sunday’s race.

After yesterday’s Sprint Race which saw victory for Noel León, it was Nikola Tsolov who took victory in the Feature Race after a crucial error from Rafael Câmara ended his race.

MP Motorsport’s Gabriele Minì added yet another podium finish in Monaco after the F2 sprint race on Saturday, extending his remarkable success at the venue with a fifth consecutive podium appearance. It’s a record Minì has set since his Formula Regional days back in 2022.
