Championship leader Leonardo Fornaroli attempted a different strategy to the rest of the grid, one that eventually fetched him second on the road in Friday’s qualifying. It was a result the Italian racer was “super happy” about, as he spoke of working with teammate Staněk over the weekend.

For most of the 30-minute Formula 2 qualifying session around the Red Bull Ring, drivers were focusing on maintaining ultimate tyre grip. Come Sunday's feature race, tyre wear will definitely take centre stage around the circuit’s medium and high-speed corners. 

The Formula 2 Feature Race in Monaco saw seven drivers out of contention after the first corner of the race.

Formula 2's qualifying session saw plenty of drivers take to the Jeddah Corniche Circuit in full flow for the first time, pushing their cars close to the barriers, searching for the perfect lap.

Joshua Dürksen picked up from where he left off in 2024. Behind him were two maiden podium finishers, Leonardo Fornaroli and Luke Browning.
