With a stacked, competitive list making their way to the 2026 edition of Nürburgring 24 Hours, the German enduro will deliver a string of qualifying sessions. Here's a guide to their revamped format.

41 GT3 cars will race in the top, SP9, class of the Nürburgring 24h. Although the track is considered ruthless, for 40 of the SP9 competitors perhaps the most ominous part of the 24 hour race will be the No.3 Verstappen Racing Mercedes, which will be run in tandem with Winward Racing.

The 24h Qualifiers are the fourth and fifth rounds of the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie (NLS), the first double header of the year. This time the 24h layout will be used, so the AMG Arena will be skipped and cars will take a hard left immediately turn one, then complete the remainder of the Grand Prix circuit rather than use the usual Sprintstrecke version.

The 57th running of the Adenauer ADAC Rundstrecken-Trophy will take place this weekend with 139 cars split across 23 different classes. The class with the most attention is SP9, where regulated GT3 cars race with some of sportscar's finest drivers. The class is split into Pro, Pro-Am and Am depending on the driver's ratings.

Media obligations done, the competitors got down to business for Thursday running, as the first competitive action took place. The No.1 Scherer Sport PHX Audi R8 LMS, which won the race last year, topped both qualifying sessions, with a fastest lap time of 8:10.580.

A wet start and a drying track caused a hectic preparation race ahead of the Nürburgring 24h, but Laurens Vanthoor and Patric Niederhauser emerged on top for the second consecutive day after a perfect drive from the duo in the No.16 Porsche.

In traditional Nürburgring fashion, drivers were challenged with extreme conditions, as the rain poured onto the 25.378km race track. A brilliant opening stint by Laurens Vanthoor gave his No.16 Porsche a huge lead, which it would not sacrifice before the chequered flag fell, continuing Porsche's domination of the Nürburgring this season.

Falken Motorsport took their second win this year in the NLS (Nürburgring Langstrecken Serie) with the No.3 Porsche 911 GT3 R, ahead of the No.34 Walkenhorst Motorsport Aston Martin Vantage GT3 Evo and the Rowe Racing No.98 BMW M4 GT3.
