NLS

The opening round of the NLS takes place this Saturday. 

The No.911 will be piloted by two of its regulars: Kévin Estre and Ayhancan Güven. Neither driver needs any introduction, Estre has won the Nürburgring 24h once in the past, and nearly repeated it with Güven last year, but a penalty was added to their finishing time which dropped the car to second.

With Verstappen, Winward's No.3 Mercedes-AMG GT3 will be driven by three Mercedes factory drivers: Dani Juncadella, Jules Gounon and Lucas Auer. None of the driver's have won the 24 hour race in the past, but each have conducted respectable careers in sports car racing, especially in GT3s.

Falken Motorsport will be fielding a single Porsche 911 GT3 R for the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie (NLS) and Nürburgring 24h, with the number 44. Aligning with Falkens focus on "continuity and experience", 34 year old Klaus Bachler will once again get behind the wheel of the No.44, having won the only NLS race he entered last year.

Rauh Racing are breaking boundaries in motorsport with their Renault Twingo, targeting races like the Nürburgring 24h, the team are proving there is no limit to passion.

Toyota finally premiered the GR GT3, set to take on GT3 competitions around 2027.

Welcome to DIVEBOMB's LIVE Coverage of the penultimate round of the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie (NLS), where four-time Formula One world champion Max Verstappen will make his GT3 (SP9) debut.

The eighth race in the all Nürburgring series - NLS - got underway at 12:00 local time today. While it was Falken Motorsport that dominated yesterdays race, it was Alex Fontana in the No.44 Car Collection Porsche that took the pole in qualifying earlier in the morning.

When the cars left for the formation lap, it was Julien Andlauer in the No.3 Falken Motorsports Porsche that had taken pole position, but all eyes were on a specific car in the Cup3 class. Four time Formula One world champion Max Verstappen was apart of the No.980 entry, in an attempt to get his permit so he can race GT3 cars.

After a delay due to heavy fog, qualifying finally got underway at 12:00 local time, with a 40 minute session. The race then got underway at 14:00, with four and a half hours scheduled instead of six, due to the delay.

Drivers, teams and fans alike woke up this morning ready for a full day of racing ahead of qualifying and the six hour race around the Nürburgring Nordschlife in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie (NLS), only to find the track completely covered in fog.
