Finally after six and a half hours worth of qualifying across Thursday and Friday morning, some pole positions would be decided for the 2026 Nürburgring 24 Hours. Not the overall pole though, that was to be saved for Top Qualifying 3.

This session was for all of the cars that were not eligible for Top Qualifying 1, so all cars except the cars in the SP9, AT1, SP-X and SP-Pro classes. Everyone else would have a final 65 minute session to improve on their times from Q1 and Q2 yesterday, to put themselves in the best position for the race tomorrow.

With no SP9 or SP-X cars in this session, it was a nice way to spotlight all of the many other classes that compete in this race.

Top of all the cars circulating in this session early on was Manuel Metzger in the No.632 AT2 Porsche Cup car. That car notable for being driven by YouTubers Jimmy Broadbent, Steve Brown (SuperGT) and Misha Charoudin.

Their main competitor in class was about 15 seconds slower, but that No.320 Porsche Cup car slowed right down on the Döttinger and had to pull into the service road on the straight. The No.524 SRS Toyota Supra in VT2 Hecke was also slow at the same time, further down the straight.

The No.899 W&S Motorsport BMW M2 Racing car in the BMW class had a very scary moment at the Flugplatz. The car went wide and off into the outside barrier of the very high speed corner, colliding side on and almost flipping onto it's side. The car then came to a rest on the opposite side of the road.

Around the halfway point of the session, the Nordschlife's climate struck again. The rain started falling in parts, so improvements were practically made impossible.

No more improvements were made even as the rain eased off, the track was simply too wet for it. So the session finished as it was, with all the class poles decided.
