Almost exactly four weeks after the races conclusion, the No.84 Red Bull ABT Lamborghini that secured second place in the Nürburgring 24 Hours has been disqualified from the race.

Mirko Bortolotti, Luca Engstler and Patric Niederhauser lose their trophy after the car was found to have not been in line with it's designated Balance of Performance (BoP), exceeding it's set power limit when tested on a dyno. The team will not appeal the decision.

In the car that also took pole position, Bortolotti also suffered a puncture on the first lap, and the trio pulled off an impressive comeback to finish second on the road.

The No.34 Walkenhorst Aston Martin of Mattia Drudi, Nicki Thiim and Christian Krognes has been promoted to second while the No.99 ROWE BMW of Sheldon van der Linde, Dan Harper, Max Hesse and Dries Vanthoor inherits a podium finish. This also means that the fan favourite BMW M3 Touring secures a fourth overall finish.
