Approaching Le Mans, the No.7 car was fourth in the Championship, but an excellent win has catapulted the drivers of the car to first place, four points ahead of the No.20 BMW and 19 points ahead of their teammates.

The No.38 Jota Cadillac lead the 24 Hours of Le Mans one quarter of the way through after a first part of the race filled with strategy. The No.20 BMW is second, with the top two swapping positions constantly with the No.8 Toyota due to a strategy offset.

CLX Motorsport and their No.37 entry of Adrien Closmenil, Ian Aguilera and Theodor Jensen, will take part in the LMP2 class of this year's 24 Hours of Le Mans and in turn will become the youngest line up in the history of the infamous endurance race. In Hyperpole, Dries Vanthoor was flying in the No.15 BMW, setting lap times which looked unbeatable. In the dying moments of qualifying, Jack Aitken proved other, beating Vanthoor's time by 0.005 seconds. The No.20 crew initially thought they had lost pole, however Aitken's lap time was deleted due to a pit infringement, so they were rewarded the pole position a few minutes after the session ended.

Sébastien Bourdais grabbed first place at the last possible moment in the final 24 Hours of Le Mans practice session, in a relatively straightforward FP4.

Jack Aitken has given the No.38 Cadillac Team Jota pole position for the 24 Hours of Le Mans, with a stellar last lap to pip Dries Vanthoor in the No.15 BMW by 0.005 of a second.

After the red flag, Dries Vanthoor set a 3:23.302, beating the No.12s previous quickest lap time. The No.15 BMW stayed fasted by the chequered flag, four tenths ahead of the No.36 Alpine. The No.12 Cadillac finished third, but Norman Nato could only improve by two tenths compared to the cars lap at the start of the session.
