The LMGT3 session-topping car was disqualified after excessive rear strake wear was found.

Drama for Racing Team Turkey, as the team's faboulous No.34 car effort, getting first in Wednesday's Qualifying session thanks to the 3:55.744 effort of Peter Dempsey, became annulled as they have been disqualified from the session results.

The reason for this decision is that scrutineers found out that the car’s rear diffuser strake height was found to have breached regulations, having suffered excessive wear. After failing post-session scrutineering the decision surely must be a hard pill to swallow for the team.

A Corvette spokesperson has been quoted as saying: ''Corvette Racing engineers are evaluating the other three Corvette entries in order to mitigate and keep all four cars in compliance for the event.”

The team as of yet has not made a statement on the matter.

This means that now the No.62 Iron Lynx Mercedes has suddenly secured a Hyperpole place, as they take the No.34 RTT's place, with all three Chevrolet Corvette LMGT3 entries now being absent from the session, as the other two cars, the No.13 13 Autosport and the No.2 TF Sport cars were bottom of the field.
