The 2026 IMSA Sportscar season is upon us, and got underway this afternoon in Daytona, Florida, with qualifying for the biggest race on the North American Sportscars calendar.

WTR's GTD drivers Danny Formal and Graham Doyle spoke to DIVEBOMB, discussing team chemistry and the mission to settle unfinished business at the upcoming 2026 24 Hours of Daytona.

The 2026 Sportscar racing season kicks off this weekend with its flagship event, the 24 Hours of Daytona. A total of 60 cars (11 GTP's, 13 LMP2's, 15 GTD Pro's and 21 GTD's) are set to fill the banking's of the Daytona International Speedway with the roar of engines, with the green flag waving at 1:40pm EST (6:40pm GMT) on Saturday.

Ben Green in the No.14 Emil Frey Ferrari led the field away from pole position for the second race at the GTWC EU (GT World Challenge Europe) Sprint Cup round at Zandvoort at 2:45pm local time. In qualifying earlier in the morning Chris Lulham in the No.69 Verstappen.com Gold Cup Ferrari grabbed second on the grid, ahead of Arthur Leclerc in the No.50 AF Corse Ferrari.

Race one for the GTWC Europe Sprint Cup event at the Circuit Zandvoort got underway at 3pm local time today, with Bastian Buus in the No.89 Lionspeed GP Porsche leading the pack away from the front in his Bronze Cup car.
