The SRO has announced it's 2027 calendar for the Intercontinental GT Challenge (IGTC).

The season will kick off in it's traditional starting place in Bathurst. The 12 hour is scheduled for the 12th to the 15th of February.

Then the teams will head to North America, for a new to IGTC race at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin, Texas. The new event - entitled the 'Texas 8 Hour' - fills in the North American slot on the calendar that has been held by Indianapolis Motor Speedway since 2020.

The race will remain at an eight hour length, and moves to May, rather than IMS' traditional Autumn slot. The event will take place from the 7th to the 9th of May.

The move comes from a scheduled repaving of IMS in the Autumn of 2027 or 2028, with a specific date yet to be confirmed. With the uncertainty around when it will occur, the SRO cannot be certain about running the eight hour event there next year.

It will be the third different American IGTC event, following on from IMS (since 2020) and Laguna Seca (2017 - 2019).

The teams will have three weeks to get the cars from Texas to the Eifel region in Germany for the 24 Hours of the Nürburgring which is schedule for the 27th to the 30th of May.

A month later the teams will return to Spa for the SRO flagship 24 hour race on the 24th to the 27th of June, before the season comes to a close in Suzuka on the 4th and 5th of September for the Suzuka 1000km.

That final race will also be competed by Super GT GT300 cars for the first time, alongside the usual SRO GT3 cars. The event was revived in the IGTC championship last year, with 33 cars making the trip to Suzuka.
