Abbi Pulling: The racing driver making history and redefining women's place in Motorsports.

Abbi Pulling made history at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps two weekends ago, becoming the first female to secure pole position and become victorious in the GB3 championship. 


Starting her motorsport career at eight years old, Pulling’s Karting career was phenomenal, with her junior career earning herself two British Championship titles. 


As she made her way up this challenging industry in 2023, Pulling was promoted to British Formula four and W series (a former all-female racing series). Throughout this category she achieved multiple podiums and pole positions, gaining the attention of Alpine F1 Team which earned her a spot in their driver Academy for 2024. 


This provided her with intel from some of the top experts in Formula One and the recognition which aiding her with pathways to the upper levels of motorsport.

F1 Academy is an all-female racing series, designed to facilitate increased participation in motorsports for women. 


Pulling competed in the series that year alongside pursuing a campaign in British F4, racing for Rodin Motorsports in both series.


Despite missing seven races in her British F4 Championship, due to it clashing with her F1 Academy season. Pulling rounded up the season finishing seventh overall in the championship - she was victorious at Brands Hatch becoming the first female driver in history to win a British F4 race alongside her two further podiums for Rodin Motorsports. 


In November of 2024, Pulling was provided with the opportunity to participate in the first all-women's FIA Formula E Test in Madrid, to no surprise Pulling topped the session.


All eyes were now focused on Pulling finishing her F1 Academy Championship.

 The Alpine driver dominated F1 Academy, securing the F1 Academy Championship Title in Abu Dhabi,  Pulling had a record-breaking campaign ending the season with nine Victories, 14 Podiums, 10 Pole Positions, six fastest laps, 338 points and never finishing once off the podium across the 14-race season.


As a result of winning the F1 Academy title, the British driver received a fully-funded seat in GB3 with Rodin Motorsports for the 2025 season, with an additional further 20 days of testing in the GB3 car.


Continuing her motorsport journey with Rodin Motorsports she also became the new brand ambassador for the team in early 2025.

From this, Pulling then went up to the GB3 championship (the most senior junior Formula series in the UK), continuing her racing career with Rodin Motorsports, she went onto securing a top five finish in her GB3 debut.


In June, Pulling was announced to be joining the Nissan Formula E Team as a Rookie and Simulator Driver with a multi-year contract, previously the Brit impressed the Formula E paddock at Circuito del Jarama. 


A few weeks later, Pulling completed her maiden test with Nissan in Berlin, where she finished sixth.


Pulling finished her first season of the GB3 championship with her highest scoring round, she finished 10th in her rookie season, achieving 13 top 10 finishes including her maiden podium at Brands Hatch where she became the first female podium finisher in the championship’s history. 


Another championship where Pulling has made a clear impression, showcasing her abilities from start to finish inspiring women across the globe.

Pulling rounded off the year in Valencia with the Nissan Formula E team, taking to the track for the Second-Ever All women’s test. After completing 89 laps, she finished second fastest in the morning session and first in the afternoon being the only driver to set a time inside the 1m22s barrier. 


This year, Pulling recently participated in the 2026 FIA Rookie Test for Nissan in Miami finishing with the seventh fastest time and in Madrid with the eighth and ninth fastest times. Showcasing her skills and competitiveness in the all-electric GEN3 EVO machinery.


She has become a crucial member of the team on and off-track, participating in tests and simulation work. The team has expressed their gratitude for her ability to communicate effectively during each season, helping them improve.

Pulling continues her motorsport career in the GB3 Championship with Rodin Motorsports for her second season. 


Round two of the championship took place at the Circuit De Spa-Francorchamps. Despite the wet conditions on track Pulling excelled, firstly taking pole position for race one to winning the race becoming the first female to do both in the GB3 series.


After her incredible weekend Pulling said; "I'm absolutely over the moon. I always say I want to get placed on merit, and just show that I can compete at the front no matter what, no matter the competition, and I've done that today’.

This race was a success not only for Pulling but for all women, a reminder of what they can achieve within this sport. The British driver is the perfect role model, with her determination and passion to succeed in this sport she is destined to do great things.
