Aston Martin are officially joining the World Endurance Championship Grid for the 2025 season, using the Aston Martin Valkyrie which was designed by Formula One's Adrian Newey, a Championship-Winning designer, and one of the most successful men in the history of motorsport.

Aston Martin are not only joining the World Endurance Championship, but will also race in IMSA, the American Endurance series which sees other famous races, like the Daytona 24 Hours.

This idea, to have Aston Martin competing in the World Endurance Championship, was previously scrapped - but has now been revived. According to rumours, the first test is set to be in early 2024, with Aston Martin wanting to compete in the 2025 Daytona 24 Hours, as their first ever Endurance race in the Modern era of Hypercar.

Lawrence Stroll, Aston Martin's CEO and F1 Driver Lance Stroll's father, said:

“In addition to our presence in the FIA Formula 1 World Championship, Aston Martin’s return to the pinnacle of endurance racing will allow us to build a deeper connection with our customers and community, many of whom found their passion for the brand through our past success at Le Mans.

I would like to thank Gabe Newell and Heart of Racing for partnering with Aston Martin on this programme, and I look forward to working with him and the team as we aim for success in the greatest endurance race of them all.”

This incredible news comes after other manufacturers such as: BMW, Lamborghini and Alpine all announced their return or entry to the World Endurance Championship, earlier this year. Of course, Ferrari re-entered into the World Endurance Championship in 2023, taking a historic and famous victory in the 2023 Le Mans 24 Hours.

Competition for the 2024 World Endurance Championship is going to be fierce, and is a championship that looks as though it will be ultra-competitive. With the news of Aston Martin joining in 2025, it means that the championship will have another world-famous brand joining the grid, one which will likely see many of the British fans unite behind. We are truly in for incredible 2024 and 2025 World Endurance Seasons.

Now, there will likely be a lot of conversations surrounding potential drivers for Aston Martin. Perhaps Jenson Button will join Aston Martin and seek British driver and British manufacturer glory, or perhaps the Ex-F1 Aston Martin driver, Sebastian Vettel, will join the team? all of this is pure speculation and excitement, but the World Endurance Championship is seemingly about to become even more interesting! What do you make of this news? who would you like to see drive in the Aston Martin WEC team? let us know in the comments below!
