Floersch will join the Audi-Affiliate team Abt for DTM’s first season under Gt3 regulations. She will be teammates with ex-champion, Mike Rockenfeller and works Audi driver, Kelvin Van der Linde.
Floersch will be the third ever female driver for the Abt DTM team. She will make her first appearance at pre-season testing next month.
The German driver states that she is “really looking forward to competing in DTM,” and that “the partnership with Scheffler and Abt SportsLine is great, it makes me confident for my first season. I’m very proud to be given the opportunity to prove myself against such a strong field of drivers.”
Sophia is also a member of the all-female, Richard Mile LMP2 team.
