Envision Racing become the third team to field two female drivers for the all-female rookie test, with F1 Academy racer Ella Lloyd joining the team’s development driver Alice Powell for the test on October 31.

The Welsh driver already has experience in Formula E, having taken part in 2024’s all-female test and the Berlin rookie day with the now-defunct NEOM McLaren Racing.
Lloyd started her career in 2022, competing in the Ginetta Junior Championship. She scored points in 15 of her 25 races. In 2023, she moved up to Ginetta GT5, winning her inaugural race weekend. Overall, she claimed 10 wins, 10 pole positions and seven further podiums. Lloyd was the runner-up in that year’s championship.
2024 saw Lloyd move to single-seaters, debuting in the 2024 Formula Winter Series, where she gained over 30 positions across three races. Later in the year, Ella Lloyd signed with JHR Developments for the British F4 season, claiming four podiums and earning 11th in the championship.
Lloyd also competed in the first two rounds of the Formula Trophy UAE, claiming a best result of two seventeenth positions. In 2024, Lloyd was also the F1 Academy wildcard in Singapore, where she claimed ninth and seventh in the two races
The Welsh racer’s single-seater career continued in 2025, with a dual campaign of British F4 and F1 Academy with Rodin Motorsport. Her British F4 campaign saw her claim one third place at Zandvoort and finish fourteenth in the driver standings.
Lloyd’s F1 Academy campaign has been more successful as she has one win and a further three podiums. Currently, she sits third in the standings with one round left.
