Ella Lloyd joins Envision Racing for Formula E Madrid Rookie Test

Envision Racing have announced that British driver Ella Lloyd will be reuniting with them for the Madrid Rookie Test which is set to take place on March 22nd.

Previously, Lloyd has driven the Formula E machinery on three occasions, once for Envision and twice for McLaren.

This season, Lloyd will be racing in her sophomore season of F1 Academy with Rodin Motorsport and McLaren.

Ella Lloyd started her motorsport career in 2018, when she was invited to participate in the FIA Girls On Track Karting Challenge, held at Silverstone. However, she did not officially begin competing until 2022, racing in the Ginetta Junior Championship. She also trialled the Ginetta GT5 Challenge series in the same year, competing in three races.

For 2023, Lloyd competed in a full season of Ginetta GT5 challenge, winning 10 races and taking a further seven podiums on her way to second in the driver standings.

Ella Lloyd switched to single-seaters in 2024, when she competed in Formula Winter Series, British F4, Formula Trophy UAE and was the F1 Academy Wildcard in Singapore. She claimed four podiums in the British F4 Championship, and finished eleventh in the overall standings.

2025 saw her compete in a dual campaign of F1 Academy and British F4, driving for Rodin Motorsport and McLaren. In F1 Academy, Lloyd won one race and took an additional four podiums, on her way to fourth in the standings, while she took one podium in British F4.

In response to the statement, Lloyd said:

"I’m really looking forward to driving the Formula E car again with Envision Racing. The test last year in Valencia was a fantastic experience and I learnt a great deal from the  team. I’m excited to build on that progress and continue developing in Madrid.”
