Van Amersfoort Racing have announced that Enzo Deligny will be driving for their F3 team this season, with the Frenchman moving from Prema a month before the season opener to replace Mexican driver Jesse Carrasquedo Jr.

Deligny has had a successful junior career, winning thrice at the F4 level. This includes twice in Spanish F4, where he finished fourth in 2023. In 2025, he finished third in the Formula Regional European Championship and the Macau Grand Prix with R-ace GP.

A former member of the Red Bull Junior Team, Prema announced he was joining them for 2026 during the off-season, alongside Louis Sharp and James Wharton. Now, in a twist which not many expected, Deligny will move to Van Amersfoort Racing before the season has started, instead partnering up with Hiyu Yamakoshi and Bruno del Pino for the upcoming campaign.

Deligny expressed his delight upon moving to Van Amersfoort Racing ahead of the upcoming season:

“I am really happy to be joining Van Amersfoort Racing for the 2026 season. Formula 3 is the next step I’ve been working towards, and I’m excited to take it with VAR. I’m looking forward to working closely with the team and pushing to be competitive together throughout the year.”

Van Amersfoort Racing team principal Brad Joyce also welcomed Deligny to the team, expressing his desire to work with the Frenchman in 2026.

"We’re very pleased to welcome Enzo to Van Amersfoort Racing. We’ve been watching Enzo closely over the past few years, and he’s delivered some very strong results, particularly in Formula Regional last season.

"He’s shown speed, consistency and the ability to perform at the front. We believe he has a lot of potential and we’re looking forward to working with him this year.”

Meanwhile, Carrasquedo Jr, a mentee of Antonio and Sergio Perez, had his best season of racing in 2025, finishing fifth in the Eurocup-3 series and debuting in F3 with Hitech, with whom he raced four times in 2025. He had been confirmed to drive for Van Amersfoort Racing ahead of the 2026 season back in September 2025, but he will not compete at the season opener in Melbourne.

Excluding the 2020 season, in F3’s history, a driver being replaced before the start of the season has never happened. Pre-season testing for the 2026 F3 season runs from the 10th to the 12th of February.
