Charles Leclerc, after qualifying in P2 for Sunday’s Mexico City Grand Prix, has stated: “we will do everything to get first place into the first corner.”
Sharing the front row with championship hopeful Lando Norris, Leclerc will be targeting Ferrari’s first win in a calendar year and to add to his own tally of podiums in 2025. The team, who have not won a race since Carlos Sainz’s final victory in red at this track last season, will be hoping to change their fortunes this weekend.
Battling for second in the World Constructor’s Championship against Mercedes, the Scuderia have nothing to lose with George Russell starting in P4 and Kimi Antonelli starting in P6. As it currently stands, Mercedes lead with 341 points while Ferrari trail by seven points with 334 points.

In his post-qualifying interview, Leclerc noted: “this qualifying is difficult”. Having briefly set the fastest lap in Q3 ahead of eventual pole-sitter Norris, there was some hope of a pole position however this wasn’t meant to be.
With Ferrari optimistically looking towards the 2026 regulations and their star driver line-up proving capable of making the best of every opportunity, it is all to play for Leclerc going into Sunday’s Grand Prix.
