Lewis Hamilton stuns at Met Gala 2025

Just 24 hours ago Lewis Hamilton was racing the streets of Florida at the Miami Grand Prix. While it was a race Hamilton will probably want to forget as he left with an eighth place finish and was unhappy with the race strategy. New York’s biggest event of the year has treated him a bit better with a night he won't want to forget. 

Hamilton is no rookie to the Met Gala, he has attended many events since his first appearance in 2015. He is also good friends with the host of the event and editor-in-chief of Vogue; Anna Wintour.

Hamiltons All Cream Gala Look 

This year Hamilton has opted for an all cream outfit adorned with sparkling diamonds and smooth pearls. Complete with a satin bow tie and an embellished beret. 

Three massive rings holding vintage jewels decorate his tattooed hands. Even his cufflinks are encrusted in diamonds and pearls. 

Hamilton, who has a keen eye around a racetrack, paid attention to every possible detail for his 2025 Met Gala look. His shiny black dress shoes feature a jewel studded buckle on each foot.

This tailored to perfection suit was custom made for him by Wales Bonner.

Co-chairman Role 

The theme for the 2025 Met Gala is Superfine: Tailoring Black Style. A theme that aims to explore Black style and dandyism throughout history all the way up to present day. 

Lewis Hamilton is the co-chair of this year's gala alongside A$AP Rocky, Colman Domingo and Pharrel Williams. All four men starred on their own individual covers for the May edition of Vogue magazine. 

Hamilton’s cover was the only one done in monochrome printing making it a sleek timeless cover. 

As co-chairman, Hamilton is partly responsible for hosting the biggest fashion event in the world. His responsibilities extend to having a hand in curating the event- think all the behind-the-scenes small details that make the gala truly stand out. 

Hamilton has often been the only voice for those underrepresented in the Formula One world. Becoming co-chairman he once again is a part of highlighting their voice, history and impact on our culture.

Why Hamilton for Co-chairman? 

Often regarded as the best dressed driver on the Formula One grid it is no surprise that he would be invited on his own merit to this coveted event. Hamilton is seen in the paddock before races wearing outfits that are runway worthy. He has shown how much passion he has not just for motorsports but also for fashion. 

Most notably in 2024, Hamilton attended the final race in Abu Dhabi as a Mercedes driver- the team he had been a part of for 12 seasons. He made the biggest driver swap in Formula One history by joining Ferrari for the 2025 season and onward. 

In true Lewis Hamilton style he made a statement with his outfits over that final weekend. Starting on media day he wore a full white outfit followed by practice day one where he wore a full black outfit. 

These two outfits represent Mercedes, the team he called family and won six out of seven of his world drivers championships. Mercedes Formula One team is popularly referred to as the silver arrows and over the years their team colors included white, silver, black and teal. 

Qualifying day he showed up in a white and red ombre blended outfit. Signifying the transition of teams. 

Race day arrived and Hamilton wore a bold, fully red outfit. Statement made and story told- he was ready to become a Ferrari driver. 

A story is once again told but this time its away from the race track and instead at the heart of New York at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
