Pepe Martí continues with Cupra Kiro as Formula E enters Gen4 era

Spanish rising star Pepe Martí will continue his Formula E journey with Cupra Kiro for the 2026/27 season, giving the young driver an opportunuity to build on an impressive rookie campaign.
The announcement comes at an important moment for both Martí and the championship, with Formula E preparing to enter its new Gen4 era.
Martí made an immediate impression during his debut season. The Spaniard scored his first points in only his second E-Prix appearance and continued to show flashes of strong pace throughout the campaign.
His performance became particularly notable at his home race in Madrid, where he led the race for several laps in front of a passionate Spanish crowd before eventually finishing ninth.
His breakthrough, however, came in Monaco. Starting from 15th on the grid, Martí produced a remarkable drive to climb through the field and secure his maiden Formula E podium, making him the first Spanish driver to do so.
At the 2026 Sanya E-Prix, he delivered another outstanding recovery drive, fighting from 18th on the grid to finish second. A combination of energy management, race strategy and strong pace allowed him to make his way through the field.
The result helped him finish the season as Formula E's highest-placed rookie, with 66 championship point.
"I'm excited to continue with the team. I have felt a huge amount of support and trust since joining the team, and together, I think we’ve built something really positive".
Team Principal Russell O'Hagan praised the Spaniard's talent and maturity: "The reality is that he exceeded our expectations almost immediately and showed consistent performance across season. Watching Pepe grow over the course of the season was incredibly rewarding".
His continued partnership with CUPRA KIRO therefore looks like a natural progression. The team knows his strengths, Martí understands its working environment, and both sides have ambitious goals.
After a rookie season that included two podiums and a historic achievement for Spanish motorsport, expectations will undoubtedly be higher in 2026/27.
If Martí can combine the lessons of his debut season with the performance potential of GEN4, his second Formula E campaign could mark the beginning of an even bigger chapter in his career.
