Martí, who currently competes in FIA Formula 2 with Campos Racing, is a part of the Red Bull Junior Team and is considered one of the best up-and-coming racing drivers.

Martí joined the Red Bull Junior Team in 2023, when he was racing in the FIA Formula Three series and eventually took fifth position in the final driver standings. He is also a member of A14 Management, which is owned by two-time Formula One world champion and fellow Spaniard, Fernando Alonso.

The Red Bull junior has taken part in F2 for two seasons for Spanish outfit Campos Racing. His first campaign with the team resulted in a 14th-place finish in the overall standings, with Martí taking his maiden F2 win in the sprint race at Yas Marina, on the final race weekend of the year. His first season in the series proved to be relatively unlucky, with several incidents at Jeddah, Albert Park, Spa-Francorchamps and Baku dogging his campaign.

Come 2025, alongside fellow Red Bull junior Arvid Lindblad, Martí has experienced a much stronger campaign, currently sitting sixth in the F2 standings ahead of his 18-year-old teammate. The Spaniard has three sprint victories in 2025, at Bahrain, Austria and Hungary respectively, alongside sprint podium appearances in Monza and Jeddah.

Martí also fared strongly in Formula 3 before stepping up, taking a special home Feature Race win for Campos in 2023, alongside sprint victories in Bahrain and Monaco on his way to fifth in the drivers’ standings, a stark contrast to a maiden F3 campaign that saw him finish 26th, with just two points to his name.

The Spaniard brings a wealth of single-seater experience with him to the American-owned, British-based team, having made his car racing debut in 2021 in the Formula 4 UAE Championship with Xcel Motorsport, where he claimed one pole position and one victory.

In 2021, Martí also competed in the F4 Spanish Championship with Campos Racing. During this campaign, he took two wins, three poles, four fastest laps and a total of nine podiums, earning himself third in the championship.

In a statement following the announcement, Martí said:

“I’m very excited to join CUPRA KIRO for the 2025/26 Formula E season. Obviously, it will be my first time racing in the category, and I’ll be a rookie, but nonetheless, I’m looking forward to it. The team is coming into Season 12 off the back of a win in Jakarta, and I feel very motivated to get this new chapter started.

"With Dan [Ticktum] as my team-mate, I’ll have a lot to learn and catch up on at the beginning of the season, but my goal is to get up to speed, improve quickly and score points and hopefully get a couple of good results.”

Russell O’Hagani, Cupra Kiro's Chief Operating Officer, said:

“Welcoming Pepe to CUPRA KIRO marks an exciting new chapter for the team. Despite being just 20 years old, Pepe has shown exceptional levels of maturity, composure, and intelligence, which, when combined with his natural speed, makes him stand out as a top talent in modern motorsport.

"His decision to step away from Formula 2 and commit fully to our Formula E project is a real statement of intent, and not only validates our vision as a team, but shows belief in the future of the championship.

"His track record and drive align perfectly with our own goals, and together, we’re building something with long-term potential. I’m excited to see how our journey together unfolds over Season 12.”

Martí will be partnering veteran driver Dan Ticktum, and will experience his first taste of Formula E machinery during pre-season testing at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit, Valencia, from October 27 to October 30, before making his race weekend debut in São Paulo on December 6
