Brandon Jones is the first to lock himself into the playoffs with a win via his third win at Kansas Speedway.

As it unfolded

It is a Joe Gibbs Racing front row with Jones on the pole and rookie Taylor Gray on the outside as they led the field to green. The two stayed door to door through the first turn until Jones pulled for the lead, and Sam Mayer made it a three-car battle for the lead. Gray swept around the outside and took the lead on the second lap.

Justin Allgaier was flying at the start and moved up to second by the ninth lap, and by Lap 14, Allgaier had taken over the lead from Gray. There was slight contact between Brennen Poole and Austin Green on Lap 35, but neither suffered damage or hit the wall. The stage was under a green flag the entire time as eight playoff drivers finished the stage in the top 10.

Off pit road, Jones came off ahead of Allgaier, and Gray fell five places. They went back to racing on Lap 55, and Jones got a bit of a push from Mayer. Allgaier went back to the lead as Sammy Smith jumped up to third. The first incident caution came on Lap 59 as Jeb Burton went sideways.

Allgaier and Jones led the way on Lap 64 once again, and this time, Jones had the better launch and got into the front. One lap later, Allgaier was back into the lead. Allgaier went on to continue dominating the second stage.

Again, Jones got off pit road first, followed by Connor Zilisch as Allager fell five places. Zilisch immediately cleared for the lead on the restart on Lap 98. Jones tried to challenge but settled into second as the stage went on.

Jones caught up to Zilisch with 64 laps to go and took the lead briefly on Lap 136. Zilisch came back and retook the lead that same lap. Jones, again, took back the lead on Lap 138, but Zilisch did not let him drive away as they reached backmarkers.

Some drivers started going for green flag pit stops on Lap 141, starting with Sam Mayer and Sheldon Creed. The front two pitted with 55 laps to go. As the cycle of pit stops came to a close, Justin Bonsignore had a hard hit on the wall after contact with Nick Sanchez on Lap 155. Some drivers opted to pit again under the caution.

Alggaier and Mayer took the field back to green on Lap 163, and Allgaier had the launch but immediately got swallowed up. Jones and Zilisch were back in front. Jones had the race pace and quickly drove ahead of Zilisch for the win.
