Two-time Formula 1 champion Fernando Alonso, was involved in a road accident on February 11th. The avid cyclist was out biking when he was hit by a car, leaving him with an upper jaw fracture, forcing him to be taken to hospital. Since then, he has undergone a successful corrective surgery for his jaw. Alpine has confirmed he will remain in the hospital for a further 48 hours “under observation”, but he is expected to make a full recovery and be “fully operational” for the Alpine F1 team’s preparations ahead of the 2021 season.
