BREAKING: SEBASTIAN VETTEL TO RETIRE FROM FORMULA 1

Written by James Harding, edited by Marcus Woodhouse Four-time Formula 1 World Champion Sebastian Vettel, aged 35, will retire at the end of the 2022 season. Vettel has recorded four world titles with Red Bull Racing, 53 Grand Prix wins, and 122 podiums over the course of his 15 year career. He started his career in 2008 with Red Bull junior team Toro Rosso where he secured one race win at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza aged 21, becoming the youngest driver to win a race in F1. Vettel joined Red Bull in 2009, recording his first World Championship in 2010, and going on to claim them year after year until 2013. In his recent Instagram post, Vettel stated: “I hereby announce my retirement from Formula 1 at the end of the 2022 season…I love this sport, it has been central to my life since I can remember.” Vettel has been renowned for his actions toward fighting for human rights, saying that “we all have the same rights to live…I believe in change and progress…I believe there is still a race to win.” “Farewell and thank you for letting me share the track with you” Vettel finished.
