F1 Academy confirm full F1 team support for 2026, Cadillac to join as sponsor in 2027

In a series of major updates, F1 Academy has confirmed the continued support of all 10 Formula One teams for the 2026 season. Cadillac, making its F1 debut next year, will join the F1 Academy grid in 2027.

This confirmation comes ahead of the final round of F1 Academy’s 2025 season, and sees the 10 F1 teams reaffirm their support of the all-female series, an initiative first introduced during the 2024 season.

Reacting to the positive news, F1 Academy Managing Director Susie Wolff shared: “The commitment of long-term support from all ten current Formula 1 teams, and the addition of Cadillac to our grid from 2027, sends a powerful message about the future of F1 Academy.

“We’re not just providing a platform for the current generation of female drivers; together, we’re building a pathway to support generations of talent to come.

"We continue to be impressed by the depth of female talent coming out of the world of karting and are encouraged by the growth and strength of the emerging talent pool."

In addition to the existing F1 teams' support, it was also announced that from 2027 onwards, Cadillac too will be joining the grid.

Another key update for 2027 includes F1 Academy drivers having the availability of receiving an exemption to compete for a third season.

Currently, drivers are only permitted to compete in two seasons. Reflective of this criteria, drivers currently in their second year of F1 Academy include Drivers’ title contenders Doriane Pin and Maya Weug.

From 2027 onwards, this is set to change – opening up more possibilities for drivers to improve their skills and gain valuable on-track practice.

This permit to compete in a third extra season will be given exclusively to drivers showing promising potential, consistent results and a strong work ethic.

Wolff expanded upon this decision, stating: “A sharpened focus on individualised talent development, including the opportunity for drivers with high potential to compete in up to three seasons, will give stand out drivers the support and platform needed to fully realise their potential, while ensuring that the F1 Academy grid consistently features the very best female talent.”

As the F1 Academy paddock gears up for a final showdown in Las Vegas, visiting the entertainment capital for the first time in the series’ history, these updates reflect F1 Academy’s growing presence in the motorsport world as an unmatched platform for female drivers to prove their talent.
