Ahead of the 2025 U.S. Grand Prix, Formula One announced the extension of the round at the Circuit of The Americas through 2034.

First introduced to the sport in 2012, the Circuit of The Americas (COTA) has since been a staple on the F1 calendar, providing dramatic clashes on-track, championship crownings, entertaining moments across the paddock and vibrant displays of cultural engagement in the Lone Star State.
The circuit, known for drawing inspiration from various iconic tracks across the world including Silverstone and the Hockenheimring, is perhaps most noted for its steep first corner, boasting a 41-metre elevation change from the start line to Turn 1. Known for its sweeping entry, the corner has witnessed a fair share of action throughout history, most recently during the 2025 sprint race that saw Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris recording McLaren's first double-DNF this season.
The extension of the United States Grand Prix also comes at a time when American fan engagement with F1 is at an all-time high, the sport recording an 11% year-on-year increase in interest across American audiences.
Several drivers have also been supportive of the rise in interest for F1 in the States, with Lewis Hamilton, who has claimed five victories at COTA, stating: "I think it’s been amazing to see the growth and interest here.
"For me, this is the best track in the States. It’s one of my favourite tracks on the calendar."
The announcement also comes on the heels of Apple's exclusive deal with the sport in America, securing broadcasting rights for a preliminary five-year period.
With this deal and ventures like Formula 1: Drive to Survive as well as the recent hit F1 the Movie driving F1's growth in the States, the sport undoubtedly has a bright future ahead with this ever-expanding audience.
COTA's extension follows the announcement earlier this season that Miami would stay on the calendar till 2041, while the third American Grand Prix in Las Vegas has currently secured its place till 2027.
An extension of the nightrace in Vegas can also be expected to follow Miami and COTA's extensions in two rounds' time, as F1 aims to continue their upward growth trajectory in the USA.
