Jack Harvey will once again pilot the No.24 Dreyer & Reinbold Racing (DRR) Chevrolet in the 2026 Indianapolis 500.

The Briton made his first appearance with the Indy-only outfit in 2025, finishing 19th having led three laps before a pit-speed violation undid his race on Lap 165. He ran the race alongside commitments as a pit reporter for FOX Sports.

“My experience with DRR and [partner] INVST last year at the Indy 500 was brilliant,” Harvey said. “Consistency is so important in this sport and the opportunity to return to Indianapolis with this group is incredible.

“I’m even more confident that we can compete for the win in the 2026 event. Having INVST continue as our primary is fantastic. I love their passion for and commitment to the biggest race in the world. We’re all ready.”

This will be Harvey’s ninth Indy 500 start, with a best result of ninth with Meyer Shank Racing (MSR) in 2021. He made his return to the event with DRR as his sole racing responsibility in 2025 after one year’s absence from the event.

“In his first year with DRR in the 500, Jack drove an outstanding race, working well with the our crews and sponsors including the great local company, INVST,” said team owner Dennis Reinbold. “Jack was in position to contend throughout the event. We are anxious to see him back in our No. 24 Chevrolet this May.”

Harvey first raced full-time in IndyCar with MSR in 2020 having made his IndyCar debut in 2017 and completed a part-season schedule the following two years. He achieved his only career podium with a third-place result on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course in 2019 and finished a best of 13th in the standings in 2021.

Despite having led MSR to a position where it was expanding to a two-car effort, Harvey departed the team for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing (RLL) in 2022. Across two seasons, he finished no better than 22nd in the standings and recorded only one top-10 finish.

Ties were ultimately cut with RLL three races prior to the conclusion of the 2023 campaign, with Harvey landing at Dale Coyne Racing for 2024 - but in a deal which did not include the Indy 500. Having missed two races with a back injury, he finished 25th in the standings, failing to record a result better than 14th across his 14 races.

With no full-time driving opportunity for 2025, Harvey took a role with FOX, which featured both his pit reporting for IndyCar and an analyst role for Indy NXT. He was able to put these duties on the backburner while competing in May.

“One of the things I’ve kept perspective on this year is, although some people might see the broadcasting for me as a step back or Plan B or something like that, it’s still someone’s dream job,” Harvey told DIVEBOMB last month. “Keeping that perspective is really important because it’d be very easy to not appreciate the opportunity that I’ve got with FOX.

“Doing the 500 with a really good team like Dreyer, having the opportunity to properly compete and try and showcase what I can do, would be better for me than trying just to get into a car that you don’t feel confident you can achieve week in week out.

“Because I feel like there’s low-hanging fruit and still unfinished business, I’d rather put myself in a good position to do that than continue a narrative of: ‘It’s been difficult to recover since [RLL].’ Because actually, after the 500, it felt like my stock was climbing up again and the momentum around what we were doing was high.”

The second DRR driver is as yet unannounced, though veteran IndyCar champion and Indy 500 winner Ryan Hunter-Reay has raced for the team in the past three Months of May.
