IndyCar's race at the Nashville Superspeedway was finally postponed after over three hours of weather related delays.

The IndyCar broadcast was scheduled to start at 16:30 local time, but as expected that time was delayed due to the elongated World Cup final between Spain and Argentina that went into extra time.

As the World Cup broadcast was closing out, the storms began near the Nashville vicinity, and though there wasn't rain on track, the nearby lightning put the start of the race on a further delay. After several delays for lightning, it began raining at the track and soon the wet weather became a concern as well.

The rain eventually stopped and efforts to dry the track commenced, and with the lights around the track an evening race may have been in the cards, but around 20:00 local time the rain began again in earnest, and the call was made to postpone the race until Monday at 14:00 local time in Nashville.

It will be Andretti Global's Kyle Kirkwood who will lead the field to green tomorrow afternoon, having won his first pole award of the 2026 season on Saturday.
