After their factory team announced their 2027 line-up, it is finally the time for KTM Tech3 to reveal who will ride for them in the following season.
Enea Bastianini to leave
Enea Bastianini joined the Austrian team last season and will leave Tech3 in 2027, despite frequently being the team's leading rider during a tough period. Bastianini switched manufacturers for the first time in his career when he joined KTM and managed to adapt well to the new environment.

Luca Marini to join
It has been announced that former Honda factory rider Luca Marini will join the Tech3 team in 2027 on a two year contract. The Italian has been struggling ever since joining Honda in 2023, but his relentlessness seems to have impressed the new Tech3 CEO, Guenther Steiner, enough to give him another chance.
Steiner believes that Marini's experience and work ethic will help the team navigate the new technical regulations moving forward. He stated: "Luca understands how to work at this level of the sport, whether it’s collaborating with the engineers, developing the bike or pushing forward in challenging circumstances. We are entering an exciting new chapter with KTM, and we believe Luca has the speed, experience and determination to help us achieve our goals."
Maverick Viñales to leave (rumoured)
After two seasons threaded with injuries, Maverick Viñales is rumoured to end his partnership with the KTM satellite team with a bit of controversy. The Spaniard accused KTM of being responsible for his potential exclusion from the 2027 grid, due to the way they handled his contract renewal. The rider stated: “If I don't continue in MotoGP, there is only one culprit: KTM.”
KTM’s motorsport director Pit Beirer commented on his accusations with apparent compassion for the Spaniard’s future career and added: “He said something too strong. No problem with us. The spot is open, but time is ticking against us.”
Potencial incoming riders
While no official anouncement has yet been made regarding Tech3's second rider, Steiner has stated that his vision for the team is to pair a veteran with a rookie. Marini was the CEO's first option for an experienced rider while his preference for a potencial rookie signing were also made public.
All eyes seem to be on Moto2 Intact GP riders Manu Gonzalez and Senna Agius, with Steiner stating: "They are my candidates. If you know somebody else, maybe it would make my decision easier! But I think you all know the two Intact riders, they're both very good. I don't think there are any big cons to either of them - but who has more pluses at this point?"
Only five seats are still open for the following season. Will the remaining riders on the current grid be able to secure their spot for 2027, or will new faces emerge instead?
