Drivers, teams and fans alike woke up this morning ready for a full day of racing ahead of qualifying and the six hour race around the Nürburgring Nordschlife in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie (NLS), only to find the track completely covered in fog.
Qualifying was due to take place early in the morning, but as of now, cars have still not taken to the track. There is currently no news on a qualifying procedure or a race start time, which was due to start at noon local time.
Minds flashback to last years Nürburgring 24 hour race, which was cut short for the same reason. In the end that race never got going again, save for a handful of laps behind the safety car.

11:57: Plan is for a 14:00 race start, with a four an a half hour race, until 18:30 in the evening.
11:56: Wet tyres being fitted on cars. The pit lane is clear, we are ready to go on track. Stay tuned on the website for qualifying and race reports
11:53: We have an update, qualifying will get going at 12 local time, running for 40 minutes. We are just minutes away from track action.
11:50: The fog there is consistent around much of the track. We shouldn't need to wait until it completely clears to get going, but each marshal post needs to be able to see the one before and after it with the naked eye. That is to ensure if there is an incident, the track volunteers can show the correct flags and clear the incident as quickly as possible
11:46: Scenes in the pit lane from our very own photographer Luna Maas.

11:41: Course vehicles are going around, checking the conditions. Still doesn't look ready for racing however.
11:36: Race control had previously said an update to be given at 11:30, but now say 11:45. I fear we are still a good bit away from seeing cars on track.
