A sold out Saturday for the third race of the weekend saw the New Zealanders leading the pack, with Ryan Wood qualifying on top with a 1:21.095, with Matthew Payne right behind.
On the second row, Brodie Kostecki and Kai Allen are yet again paired with one another.
Tyre wear rating over the weekend has been set at medium, meaning strategy and timing are what ensures a nail biting race for fans watching trackside and at home.
Upon green flag, the hometown heroes got away quickly, with Payne finally having a better start than what he's had over the weekend.
The field got away from the start with little to no contact, the mid-field still having their multiple car fights, but managing to not bump one another too much.
Rylan Gray, Shell V Power rookie, in the No.38 Mustang, made slight contact with Cameron Waters, with that action quickly followed by Chaz Mostert and Cooper Murray battling it out.
At Lap 14, Kostecki and Allen came into the lane for an early stop - two tyres for the No.17 Mustang and four tyres for Allen, the No.26 Mustang having a costly stop after a random order of events.
Aaron Cameron did his best to sneak up the inside of Murray, assisting him to spin - more mayhem unleashed for Will Brown, the left rear tyre having some rattle gun having some issues on Lap 21.
Aaron Cameron faced his 15-second time penalty in the pit lane. Kostecki and Wood fought it out with eleven laps to go; the fight for third - both cars heading off the race line, Kostecki failing to get back on the track as quick as his competitor ahead - debris and dirt flying on track.
With just three laps remaining, James Golding made his way to the rear of Wood - the gap just +0.130, as Wood does his best to block and defend. A side drift giving a hand to Golding on the main straight.
Heading back up to the front of the pack, hometown favourite Payne pulled +11.806 in front of Broc Feeney, crossing the line in first and winning Race 12.
With one race left of the weekend, the Jason Richards Memorial Trophy still remains up for grabs for Sunday's finale, the challenge between Wood, Kostecki and Feeney alive and well.
