Qualifying for Race 14 brought in a mixed top five with Chaz Mostert leading the pack and gaining pole position on a 0:51.713. Following behind by 0.0261 was Anton De Pasquale, who was being chased down by Brodie Kostecki and Andre Heimgartner.

On the third row, David Reynolds and Cameron Hill posed as serious threats for the front rows.

As it happened

As it was time to start racing, De Pasquale got the jump on Mostert, effectively becoming race leader, while behind Reynolds asserted his dominance and made his way to a podium spot.

It was a relatively clean start to a 50 lap race, the momentum to grow a gap between the leaders clear.

Lap two, De Pasquale lost the lead to the Toyota Supra and his own teammate, eventually dropping back to fifth in just three corners.

The action erupted from there, Ryan Wood and Broc Feeney effectively igniting their own battle for the first race at Tasmania for the year.

Each continued on, moved being made down the field, with a deep send taking place up the insude of Thomas Randle by James Golding on Lap 21.

A 15-second time penalty had been issued to Kai Allen after alleged contact earlier in the race, giving him a bigger challenge to make up for it in pace and track position.

The field remained calm and tidy, especially during the first nine pit stops of the race. This continued on until at least twenty laps to go, with Will Brown's pitstop raising eyebrows with a rogue wheel coming out to the edge of pit lane.

At Lap 31, Allen took his penalty, putting him right at the back of the pack, enabling a chance at completing a recovery drive for the remaining laps while teammate Matt Payne played the long game for his first stop in the lead - something that fans have seen the team put into motion before - finally taking his stop on Lap 33.

A battle on Lap 42 broke out between Feeney and Kostecki early in the lap, while Turn 4 saw Heimgartner brake a tad late and remaining behind the pair.

This continued until the end of the race, keeping fans on the edge of their seats, while Reynolds raced on ahead of the chaos as each Mustang driver tested one another's strengths in Tassie.

On the last lap, Mostert crossed the finish line effectively winning his first race of the 2026 season, sending a message to the paddock as the reigning champion.
