Yuki Tsunoda expressed his happiness and renewed self-assurance after a strong sixth-place finish in the 2025 Azerbaijan Grand Prix, a result he believes provides a building block for the future.

Finishing where he started, the Japanese driver was pleased with a performance that he felt was a significant step up from previous outings, giving him confidence for the rest of the season.
Tsunoda stated: "Yeah, I'm happy with it. I think, especially the pace I showed today is a lot different to other race weeks, and something that, yeah, I feel confidence in the future."
The result was attributed to a combination of personal effort and significant internal changes made by his team. While acknowledging there is still room to "sharpen up more quality," Tsunoda felt the work was paying off.
He commented that the performance was "supported a lot from the team to change massively like this internally, and also the efforts I put over the weeks definitely shows some improvement there."
When asked about the specific changes he had made to improve his long-run pace, Tsunoda remained discreet but confirmed that the weekend had provided a breakthrough.
"Yeah, obviously I can't say what I changed, but yeah, it's something I can improve slightly more," Tsunoda said. "And also something that I got from this weekend, which made me extra confident in the future to make the result consistently."
